Hello world!

I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, and I decided to move to the US pursuing my education at Saint Anselm College. I completed a major in computer science and two minors: one in graphic design and another in web design.

I believe that the best software solutions provide ease in functionality, while embracing motion and creating a personable environment. In my work, I rely on data structures and algorithms to establish a foundation for responsive coding projects. Additionally, I create visual interest by establishing a clear hierarchy, a diverse set of visual weights, and a harmonious color palette throughout my work. I strive to bring my designs to life using some animation tricks.
My Process

Identifying the "why?"

I begin any project by identifying the need and motive behind the work. I do not rush to create something during this stage. Instead, I focus on asking questions related to the problem that I seek to solve. I observe the tip of the ice burg before diving deeper into the root issues. Then, I visualize the different avenues that can be incorporated as a solution.

Walking a mile in the user's shoe

During this stage I let go of my own preconceived beliefs and ideas. I focus on being observant and interact with my design from the eyes of the user. I use the empathy map as a reference to relate to what the user thinks, feels, does and says.

Wireframe and user flow

Here, I first create a wireframe on paper, which serves as a blue print for my solution. Then, I implement my designs in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to visualize a mock up of my final product. Additionally, I set up a mood board and a color palette to drive a consistent look throughout the project. Finally, I seek the most effective design systems for implementation.
